"No One to Wait For" lyrics

Seems like all my life I’ve traveled the same road. I know now it’s going nowhere. I hope it’s not too late for you to separate all the good from the bad. Well I’ve seen California and most of the North. Played Texas and the Opry, too. With no one to wait for and not goin nowhere and not knowin what to do.

From hotel to motel, big city to small town. Fairs to the rodeo. Just pickin and jammin with all of the stars but feelin so all alone. With a young thing beside me almost every night, can’t make me feel like you do. With no one to wait for and not goin nowhere, not knowin what to do.

Bridge                                                              I don’t wanna be free to do as I choose. But I couldn’t be free if I ain’t got you.

So to hell with the ramblers and as for the gamblers well I’ve been a loser so far. I’ve lived with Jack Daniels and rode with Hell’s Angels and I know everyone in this bar. But I’ll sell this old Greyhound go back punchin a clock. Maybe write a song or two. About no one to wait for and not goin nowhere and not knowin what to do.

Bridge

No I’ve got someone to wait for & I’m goin somewhere. And I know just what I want to do.
