"SISTER" lyrics

Sister.

I knew your sister

I met her in ‘79

She had a long black coat

And skin so smooth and fine

She was a singer

Strong and deep in tone

And she stood by me

Whenever I wrote a poem

She held my hand for 15 years

Let me turn her on to blues and tears

To soaring highs and screeching sighs

She held my hand for 15 years

About my song

This song was written with my long time friend and co-writer John O’Grady (we were in school together). I did the lyrics and John put beautiful music to them. John also did the demo, lovely piano, keyboards, guitar and passionate vocal. Hope it moves you. October 2010 – in rehearsal for ‘Sub-Zero Heroes’ album by Good Intentions.
