Versatility Yields Unique Traveling One-Man Show

KALAMAZOO, MI — Dan Adam is a Kalamazoo-based performing musician with a diverse background. Classically trained and experienced in a wide variety of pop styles, Dan is used to wearing many hats as a performer, songwriter, arranger, and recording engineer. And he’s found that such versatility is the key to surviving on today’s fluid and demanding music scene.

Gone is the time when a musician was expected to have mastered only one instrument or one type of music. Today’s players not only have to be musically competent and stylistically flexible, they must be proficient in computer technology and recording techniques, feeling equally comfortable on stage and in the studio.

Dan holds a degree in Music Composition from Western Michigan University. He has worked in Los Angeles and New York, taking part in production of pop and rock records that have yielded Top-10 hits. Adding to his versatility, he’s been a private music instructor as well as a music director for area churches. He’s also played in several bands and engineered numerous recordings for other artists, both locally and around the country.
