Albert Dean Browning

Biography

Albert was born the seventh of twelve children of Dan and Ruby Browning in 1943 at Puritan Mines, WV.  He and his twin sister grew up in Mingo and Wayne Counties.  He enlisted in the U. S. Navy upon graduation from Burch High School and served four years during the Vietnam era.  He met and married his wife of 41-years while on leave in 1964.  He and June raised three children while living and working in southern West Virginia.  Albert worked either as an electrician or an electrical instructor during his working career.  He earned a BS degree from WV Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV and a MS degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV.  He enjoys gardening, cooking, drawing & painting, writing and playing his guitar.  He has published three books but have turned his talents to songwriting during the past few years.  Since his retirement and his wife’s death he has been sharing his time between his homes at Delbarton, in southern WV and Shallotte, a small beach community in south eastern North Carolina.
